This is THE best book in the series. I was really afraid when I started reading it that it would be one of those "I love you no matter what you look like" books. I've been reading this author for months so I should know better. Forgive me!We have overweight, extremely low self-esteem, probably no in the best of health type that is so overused because it's easier to write stories using tropes. Demetri is a very successful history professor but no love life. He has a history of horrible choices. He's dated worse people than me and I've dated some real winners! He meets Miller when Miller and West are doing a job down the hall from Demetri's office. As it turns out, they attended the same summer camp as kids.Miller is a extremely complex character. He's transgendered. I don't think that his gender really played a large part in the story. We have the scene when he gets naked for the first time in front of Demetri. Yes, he was nervous but he makes an aside comment that most people are drunk when they get undressed for the first time in front of someone. I really couldn't see Demetri being phobic about Miller's body.One other thing I noticed, along the lines of Miller being transgendered, was that Demetri's weight was only mentioned a few times. Demetri identified himself as overweight. A few people discussed it. Miller accepted Demetri's weight. It wasn't an issue. Just like Miller's being transgender wasn't. Just facts.Demetri and Miller are now one of my favorite couples of all time. They were just perfect for each other. It was pretty low angst but the other emotions more than made up for it. I was expecting more like in the scene with Victor, but nope, and I'm fine with it. The book was the opposite of angst. I highly recommend it. This book, and the MCs, reminded me a little of Hardwood. It was engaging, cute, and very hot, but there was something missing for me.I liked both MCs a lot. I could relate to a lot of Demetri's personality traits, his insecurities and obliviousness, and I really wanted him to get his HEA. Miller was just awesome, I loved how comfortable he is in his own skin, and how much he supports and cares for Demetri. I could very much relate to his ADHD and I loved seeing that. I thought his experience as a transgender man was written pretty well, and I loved that we get another bi character.I would expect to love them even more together, but, just like with Hardwood, I didn't feel their chemistry that much. Some of their conversations were pretty charged and interesting, but I didn't find myself that invested. I felt like Demetri had more chemistry with his hot neighbour, and Miller with Apollo. Maybe these two were just too similar in personality for my tastes. It was really hot though. Miller is confident, straightforward, and he knows what he wants. Demetri does too, so once he got over his hang ups, there was lots of steamy goodness. I just needed more sparks outside of that.Sometimes the funny parts were a little OTT, but I think it was that way in the previous books too, except I was more invested in the couples so I glossed over it. Anyway, the other couples from the series showed up here as well, and they steal the show. Stone and Dare are still superhot, and I still swooned whenever I saw something about Ollie and Daniel. And bonus points for tortoise cozy adorableness.It was a sweet, enjoyable, nearly zero angst read, and a great addition to the series, just maybe not for me. I think I was missing some conflict or push and pull between the characters.That said, I am a little sad to see this series coming to an end. I really enjoyed most of these books, I absolutely loved some of them, and I'm very excited for the last one with Apollo and Ridge. I'm guessing there might be a spin-off for the mechanic crew as well, which I will definitely be reading.
